Stockton-on-Tees Community
Wellbeing Champions
This project, previously named the Stockton-on-Tees Covid-19 Community Champions, was launched in January 2021 during the UK's third national lockdown.
The project is delivered by the third sector organisation, the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) and works in partnership with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and Public Health Stockton.
The Community Wellbeing Champion network has been established to empower and support the residents and communities of Stockton-on-Tees to stay up to date with key Public Health messages. The network helps to dispel misinformation, provide support and identify any barriers that face our communities.
Interested in joining us as a Wellbeing Champion?
As a Wellbeing Champion you'll be able to share the latest health and wellbeing key messages issued by Public Health with your friends, family and community. Your trusted relationship with the people you represent is invaluable to the dissemination of health and wellbeing messages as well as the collation of community feedback.
Our service model follows three steps; Connect, Work and Change, which outlines how we strive to run the project and manage our Champions.
We want to engage all communities in creating solutions to:
-
Minimise barriers and challenges.
-
Minimise impact on wellbeing.
To enable us to move forward and protect people together we will provide:
-
Opportunities for a two-way conversation between public health and the residents.
-
Sharing of information and ideas.
-
Sharing the perspective and experiences of different communities and learning from best practice solutions.
