Our very own, Bev Walton, launches children's book at the PCP

Bev Walton, a kind-hearted charity worker from the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), has turned her talent of storytelling into a children’s book.

You may recognise Bev as a friendly face that greets you at our head office, the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe – where she also creates magical scenes and stories for PCP’s events for children.

Bev’s new book is called The Tidy-Up Terrors and is based on a mum asking her young boy to tidy his bedroom, with the mess causing lots of terrors!

Bev Walton, children’s author, said: “The Tidy-Up Terrors is actually based on myself and my son when he was young, and how I was always asking him to tidy his bedroom and he couldn’t be bothered.

“It was originally written as a light-hearted tease to encourage my son to tidy his permanently messy bedroom. The story has some rhyming fun throughout, with lots of giggles along the way.

“I’m over the moon to have launched my first book – storytelling has been an interest of mine throughout my life, and I’m happy to see my book come to life.”

The Tidy-Up Terrors launched on Saturday 9 December at the Pioneering Care Centre, with a book signing from the author and illustrator, along with activities and fun for children.

PCP would like to congratulate Bev on the launch of her book. We're sure there's lots more exciting stories to come!
