Meet Sarah Johnson, Operations Support Officer

Each month we will bring you behind the scenes to put the well deserved spotlight on our staff that help us make a difference to communities throughout the North East. This month meet Sarah Johnson, Operations Support Officer!

Can you give an overview of your role?

I work on a 15-hour part time contract supporting the operations team here at Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP). My duties include helping and supporting the centre and outreach sites with support around health and safety, audits, and other ad hoc projects.

Describe a day-to-day in your role

Day to day duties can include collating documents, looking to help with processes, setting up documents or systems for health and safety documents and liaising with staff across the organisation.

What do you like about working for the PCP?

I started at PCP back in October 2021 on a part time basis on the reception desk at the Centre. Having a full-time business outside of PCP during the lockdowns highlighted how isolating working for yourself can be sometimes. I always knew PCP was here and being on my doorstep I decided to apply for the part time role. PCP is a “Community Hub” that supports lots of projects across the area and I love being part of the team here. I moved from the reception desk to my role in operations at the end of 2022 and I am really enjoying my busy and very varied role.

What is the most rewarding aspect of the role?

I like to work as part of a team and to have other people around me but I do love the flexibility to be able to work independently and from home if and when needed too. I have loved with both Gail Anderson and the amazing friendly reception team and Vicky Browning and the rest of the operations team here at PCP. The centre has a lovely warm feeling to it and its great to get the opportunity to chat with visitors to the centre especially some of the regulars that feel part of your own family.

Has there been any additional training you’ve done since you started working for the PCP?

I have accessed lots of training whilst working at PCP, some for PCP and some for my business. Whilst being at PCP I have studied my Level 2 Children and Young Persons Mental Health, Mindfulness and Meditation Diploma and Aromatherapy Diploma. I have also carried out lots of photography and business related courses and workshops and I hope in the near future to run some of my own Mindfulness and Photography Courses and Business Workshops for others running their own business using some of the rooms available for hire here at PCP (I do need to remember that there is only 24 hours in a day sometimes so this won’t be until later in the year😊)

If you are interested in joining our team, we have lots of opportunities across the North East and in sectors inclusive of health and wellbeing.
