Come along to the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe to get ‘hooked’ on a new Love to Knit group offering support to your local community.
The group will meet every Thursday from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. The group will knit, crochet, and sew squares, to create dressing gowns for those in need of warmth and comfort this winter.
Experienced knitters and beginners are all welcome. For those who are unable to attend the onsite sessions, the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) will deliver materials to your household in the Newton Aycliffe area.
Ann Bell, PCP Community Projects Officer, said: “The PCP is pleased to be able to provide this new knitting group, which helps our local community at the same time.
“By supporting people to take part from home, we can reach out to the housebound of Newton Aycliffe and include them in this special project. The group will be supporting the local community, by providing dressing gowns to the vulnerable during the winter months.
“If you are joining the sessions at the centre and have any needles or wool, please bring them along – otherwise, materials will be provided during the sessions.”
