Promoting the fantastic work taking place across the health and social care sector in Sunderland, the team at Healthwatch Sunderland has recgonised the NHS for its contribution to local people.
Healthwatch Sunderland has its Star Awards to celebrate health and social care shining stars, this can be to recognise either full teams or individuals. You can nominate a shining star if someone gave you excellent service or went above and beyond at what they do.
Anna Gillingham, Healthwatch Sunderland Engagement Coordinator, said: “We’ve recently been to visit Dr Claire Bracewell from the Rheumatology Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital, who was nominated by her patients. Her nomination highlighted that she takes the time to listen and ensures no information is sidelined, so patients feel heard, valued and supported.
“We’d like to thank Dr Claire Bracewell for all that her and the team do to make a difference for patients.”

The nominations didn’t stop there for the NHS, with a nomination for South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust’s Podiatry Service.
Anna added: “It’s amazing to award not one, but two NHS areas for their dedicated work. The nomination we received highlighted fantastic work taking place from all staff, and how they truly value the experience they give to patients. Well done to the fantastic podiatry service.
“We’ll be continuing throughout the year to celebrate the rewarding work taking place in the health and social care sector – watch this space!”
