There were smiles all around as a member-led service for adults with learning and physical disabilities relaunched its popular evening social club!
Celebrated with a fun-filled summer party, the Pioneering Care Partnership’s (PCP) Social Club welcomed new and returning members, with special guests including Cllr Ken Robson, Mayor of Great Aycliffe, along with his wife Elaine, the Mayoress.
Hosted at the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe, the relaunch was nothing short of sweet, with fresh fruit meringues, activities and much more on offer.
Carol Gaskarth, Chief Executive of PCP, said: “Our Social Club has been dearly missed following a two-year hiatus. It’s good to be back to provide adults with learning and physical disabilities the opportunity to have fun, relax and unwind, make new friends and take part in a wide range of activities.
“I would like to thank the Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership (GAMP) and the local Councillors who continue to support the Social Club with funding, without which we would not be able to run this popular social evening.”
The Social Club takes place every Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and is only £4.00 per session, with funds contributing to weekly activities, resources and staffing.
